    Thank you, good video. Worth noting a few handy points:
    - To fully quit a game, just hover over the game in the home menu and press your options button > select close game
    - The reason PS5 works with the present HDMI 2.1 chipset bug is because its outputting using 4:2:2 chroma rather than 4:4:4 - all that means is its a less quality signal than it could be, but its better than no signal at all at this point!!
    When the HDMI 2.1 bug is fixed/replaced, we should hope to see the full 4:4:4 output in action.

    I decided to buy the X3600h and just used the eArc. Saved me a lot of money. Especially considering Denon is only supplying one HDMI 2.1 input. It was a huge step up over my old Onkyo TX nr777. Now I'm just waiting for my Xbox series X to come in the mail. Ordered it on launch day and it is not supposed to be here until the 23rd of December. I have no idea when I'm going to get a PS5. Hopefully soon because my LG C9 is craving for some high frame rates

    Than you mentioning turning on/off components after setting up your gear. I have the Denon 3700H and ran into a problem with that and my Oppo 203D. The problem being the Oppo would not put out any sound - regardless of all my troubleshooting over the course of almost a week. After pulling out most of what's left of my hair I remember talking to Oppo when I had a problem with my 103D. All I had to do was a hard reset on my Oppo203. Specifically, with the unit on unplug the 203 and turn the unit and bingo. Sometimes the easiest fix is the simplest fix. With the complexities of electronics these days it's a wonder that anything works.

      If you care about having the full bandwidth of your promised 2.1 point, I would still hold on to that receipt since the PS5 is not currently (at launch) at true 2.1 device. Still a great receiver if you don’t need the 2.1 bandwidth of the port.

    • @SoundUnitedTraining
      @SoundUnitedTraining 3 года назад

      @@CriPPleR_HD you don't need 48Gbps for any modern display. If you look at 04:21 in the video you will see that 4K@120P (12bit 4:2:2) being passed is just 32 Gbps. This signal far exceeds any modern display's color capabilities since they only utilize 10-bit panels. Whether it was native or upscaled by the source, the bandwidth is the same.

    • @CriPPleR_HD
      @CriPPleR_HD 3 года назад

      @@SoundUnitedTraining Hi Phil! I never said that you need the full 48gbs bandwidth of 2.1. To clarify, what I meant to say was that you do need the full 40gbs for 4K@120hz 10bit 4:4:4 chroma sampling. For whatever reason, the 2020 2.1 ports on the Denon / Marantz are not accepting this bandwidth.
      If @greg cares about having a working 2.1 port on his receiver that passes the full bandwidth of 40gbs that Xbox Series X and the RTX 30 series cards, he should hold on to his receipt until Sound United offers a solution.
      Never said it was a 48gbs issue.

    You aren't getting full 3840x2160 resolution at 120Hz, that's dynamic 4K resolution which is actually running at around 1440p. The PS5 upconverts all lower resolution games to 2160p and your TV and receiver read that forced output instead of the actual real-time resolution.

Both PS5 and Series X support 4K 120Hz and 8K - however their hardware is limiting native 4K games to 30fps and 60fps at the moment for next-gen games with demanding graphics. 120fps is very much possible on next-gen console games, but only with resolution drops and ray-tracing disabled.

    The reason that the PS5 is not having the issue is because it is not using 4K@120 with 10bit 4:4:4 chroma sampling. The problem is bandwidth. Thing to keep in mind that 120hz mode in CoD is not 4K. Your PS4 is pretty much using HDMI 2.0 bandwidth hence no compatibility issues. The moment that PS5 supports 4K@120 10bit, 4:4:4 (which is why we need 2.1) the Marantz will run into the same issue as it has with the RTX 30 series and the Xbox Series X.

      I think if you were
      PS5 -> TV you would use eARC
      PS5 -> AVR you would not use eARC
      Supposedly VRR and ALLM take care of that. However you will notice that receivers will use en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transition-minimized_differential_signaling?wprov=sfti1 to achieve that. So instead of 60Hz/120Hz you will get something slightly less. So it does impact refresh rate.

    I've got one question. But I habe to say, I'm currently at work, so I don't have the time to watch the full Video.
    My question is:
    Are there any problems with the "Marantz NR1510"?
    (PS5 / Q90T / 5.1 Speaker)
    Sorry if the answer is in your video. But like I said, I don't have the time right now :/

    Only 1 HDMI 2.1 input on any of these 2020 receivers that support 4K 120fps. That kinda sucks if you buy both PS5 & Xbox Series X. My goal is to wait until 2021 and hopefully those receivers will have full HDMI 2.1 ports.

    Question if I’m playing WarZone, that doesn’t support 120hz, can I just go back into the PS5 settings and turn the resolution on for the better picture ? Pretty much asking, for games that runs 120hz I can switch ps5 to performance and games that only run 60hz (like WarZone) switch to resolution ?

    After 5 years, I'm back gaming, and I have some 1st world problems now.
    In the past, I never bothered about the best TVs and/or receivers, simply because even spending 200 euros for a TV for me was a miracle as I was dead broke; now fast forward 5 years I'm doing a little better than that and I just got a PS5 last week along with an LG CX; now the question is, as I'm completely clueless about these receivers, what would the advantage be in buying one of these as compared to sticking to current setup?
    Considering that I don't care about sound quality because I'd rather spend 1k on a pair of headphones before buying a soundbar or stuff like that, is there any sensible improvement in graphics, fps etc. while playing games online if I get one of these??

    One question: If you plug a firestick or other device with HDMI 2.0 output into a HDMI 2.1 input and turn on 8K Enhanced, will the audio/video still be received/played correctly? From my understanding changing between enhanced and 8k enhanced changes the way the AVR communicates with the source device, not sure if the AVR is smart enough to still be backwards compatible with HDMI 2.0 devices if they are plugged into a HDMI 2.1 port on the AVR

    • @TechnoDad

      4K120P (10bit 4:4:4) is just 40Gbps which the AVR will pass. You don't need 48Gbps for any modern display which all use 10-bit panels. If you look at 04:21 in the video you will see that 4K@120P (12bit 4:2:2) being passed is just 32 Gbps. This signal far exceeds any modern display's color capabilities since they only utilize 10-bit panels. No current HDMI 2.1 display can support more than that. BTW, whether it was native or upscaled by the source, the bandwidth is the same.
